Elkwood Manor Bed and Breakfast Wedding Venue Review

We love when our photography business takes us traveling. We shot a gorgeous wedding over at the Elkwood Manor Bed and Breakfast that’s located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado last year. Then, we were able to return to the beautiful wedding venue for a review!

Elkwood Manor is a gorgeous place to just disconnect, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery in Pagosa Springs. This Bed and Breakfast is a serene place that is surrounded by great outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, biking and more.

This wedding venue has the feel of a huge cabin in the woods. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city to disconnect, realign, and refresh your soul, this is the place for you. The rooms feel like cozy homes away from home.

It was a great place to capture breathtaking wedding portraits. You will LOVE the scenery. The wedding photos from this wedding venue were even featured on the Rocky Mountain Bride blog. Check out the Summer Wedding at Elkwood Manor Bed and Breakfast.

Wedding Color Palettes 2020 | Wedding Photographer Albuquerque, NM | Wedding Photographer Santa Fe, NM

Stunning Wedding Color Palettes from Our Very Own Wedding Couples!

Sometimes wedding season feels like a blur of colorful bridesmaids dresses, fresh flowers, groomsmen, and gorgeous decor. It’s an exciting whirlwind of beautiful moments. I took some time today to organize a few of the breathtaking weddings we’ve shot in the past year to look at the color palettes they went with. There are so many choices when it comes to the color scheme of your wedding.

You want colors that add to the beauty of your wedding and don’t muddy up or detract from such a memorable occasion. The first color palette I have below is perfect for a summer or spring wedding. The pops of orange really bring the feel of those seasons.

The next color palette is for my edgy brides. We had a whole bridal party with some amazing tattoo sleeves. I think this color palette really emphasized the edgy side of this bride. Different shades of grey and a light indigo blue color bring a cool modern look to this wedding.

And lastly, we have a country, cowboy boots and all, look. Pale rose and dusty blues bring this country wedding look together. Add some green foliage and an amazing farm wedding venue and you will have this look nailed!

Are there any other types of color palettes you’d like to see? Leave a comment below to let us know. If you’d like to go on the search for more great color palettes, head over to our wedding gallery here.

Wedding Trends 2020 | Wedding Photographers Albuquerque, NM | Wedding Photographers Santa Fe, NM

Great Wedding Trends of 2020

You don’t work countless weddings every year without learning the ins and outs, the popular color palettes, and the great wedding trends. In this blog, I want to really touch on one interesting trend we’ve been seeing this year. This is all about the wedding veil. There have been two extreme opposites here, yet both extremely popular in the wedding world.

The first is the very long veil. This is often called a cathedral or a “royal veil”. Royal is a very fitting name for this style. It is long, elegant and flowy, draping down to the floor. This style works great with a wedding dress that has a long train. This look is sure to make brides feel like the princesses they are; watch out royal family!

Now, on the complete opposite side of the spectrum we are seeing many brides nix the veil completely. It might feel a little rebellious to go no veil during your wedding, but there are actually many stunning no veil wedding looks. With a gorgeous hair style and some hair accessories, no one will even think twice about the missing veil. It even gives a bit of a modern feel to these brides. Check them out below…
