Old Town Casas De Suenos Bed and Breakfast Wedding Venue
Looking for a cute bed and breakfast wedding venue? Casas De Suenos is just what you’re looking for! Is it the best wedding venue in New Mexico? We like to think it’s at the top of the list with some other great venues around our beautiful state. We have photographed several weddings at this location and love the little southwestern details that make these pictures stand out. See for yourself…
This bed and breakfast located in Old Town Albuquerque, New Mexico has the perfect spots to accent every detail shot for the wedding. The adobe with chili ristras hanging, the beautiful wrought iron fence and the turquoise chair, that makes an appearance in many of my wedding photography sessions at this location, make the best detail shots. This wedding, in particular, was really fun capturing the small detail shots with the bright orange flowers that gave the perfect pop of color.
The bride featured in this Casas De Suenos wedding looked very elegant with her backless lace wedding dress and flowery updo. Her newlywed husband complimented her well with his navy blue suit, brown dress shoes, and dapper bowtie.
The bridesmaids rocked their navy blue dresses which all had their own style. We were able to capture a unique photo of the bride and her bridesmaids from behind to showcase each different and gorgeous style of their mostly backless dresses. This was one of my favorite shots from the wedding.
The groomsmen looked handsome in their navy blue slacks with suspenders sans jacket. Keep scrolling to see the wedding party’s great outfits.
A really fascinating fact about this wedding venue is that it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The entire compound was built in 1938 by a famous New Mexican artist and photographer by the name of Joseph Roy (J.R.) Willis who used the site as his personal residence, garden apartments and, art studio.
This Historic bed and breakfast has deep roots in the New Mexican artist culture. J.R. had many artists staying at and visiting his compound and the Inn has carried on this tradition by hosting artists who are visiting the state and holding an annual art seminar.
Through every photograph in this wedding gallery, you can see that an artist and photographer had his hand in designing this bed and breakfast. It is breathtaking. The distinctive gazebo you see in a lot of the photos was later added to the compound by local artist Leslie Feurbourne. This is the perfect venue for art and history nerds, but can also be admired by just about anyone for its beauty.
