National Hispanic Cultural Center Wedding in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Congratulations Shaina and Hector! We wish you many, many years of happiness! These two were married at a little hidden gem; The National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. One wouldn’t expect the beauty that was found here, we had great opportunities for some beautiful pictures!

The wide grey stone stairway was my favorite spot for wedding photographs. The stairs swept upward in a seemingly endless fashion behind the wedding party for a unique backdrop that captures the eye.

The bright grey stone went flawlessly with the steel-colored suits the groomsmen wore and the maroon bridesmaid’s dresses. '

The brick pathways and wooden beams were other pleasant surprises for a wedding photographer. The architecture left us with modern accents throughout Shaina and Hector’s wedding photos. The National Hispanic Cultural Center has definitely made its way onto my list of exceptional wedding venues.

The bride and groom had an outdoor wedding surrounded by friends and family. Shaina carried a beautiful flower bouquet that featured bright yellow sunflowers. Later in the night, they moved inside for their reception and a little surprise… They’re expecting! Instead of the traditional cake cutting ceremony, they threw in a little twist and had a gender reveal right there!

They cut into the cake that was filled with colored icing that would reveal the gender of their new baby, and we made sure to capture the excitement on their faces as they found out, in front of their loved ones, that they’re having a…

Well, I don’t want to spoil the surprise, keep scrolling to see!

I think another congratulations is in store, don’t you? Congratulations on the baby BOY!! What an exciting day! First, they profess their love to each other in front of their family and friends, then they get the best surprise in their wedding cake… They’re having a baby boy!

All of this in the company of family and friends. These two have a lot to celebrate, and celebrate they did!

I was just as pleasantly surprised with the reception area at the National Hispanic Cultural Center as I was with the outside area! You can see that a lot of thought and detail went into these buildings. Large wooden beams and elegant light fixtures accented the space making for more beautiful wedding photography.

We captured the love, the laughter, and their wonder over what the future holds. They will be able to look back on the very special moments of their special day whenever they need a little reminder of where it all started.

Sarah had a gorgeous bouquet of flowers that was wild and very elegant all at the same time. A beautiful standout bouquet can really make the bride’s wedding photos pop. This would be one of those special bouquets. It went perfectly with her long flowing lace wedding gown and veil. The groom, Zach complimented her well with his blue suit, burgundy tie, and rose boutonniere.

They had a very intimate wedding with close family all around to celebrate their union. La Posada is the quaint wedding venue their ceremony and reception were held at.

The night began with a courtyard ceremony at sunset where each professed their love for each other and vowed to cherish their marriage forever. After the ceremony, we took a stroll around Santa Fe Plaza to capture the beauty of Santa Fe and this newlywed couple.

I love capturing wedding photos between the brightly painted wooden beams in Santa Fe, they make really beautiful photographs. Sarah and Zach

At the reception, an exquisite meal was served to the entire family who gathered around a long table with the bride and groom to celebrate their big day. Dinner started with a green leaf salad and a toast from the father of the bride. The family enjoyed an elegant meal before the bride and groom hit the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.

The two shared some laughter and loving gazes as they danced into their new life together. Then the rest of the family joined them for some fun on the dance floor. Later on, the father of the bride joined her for a special father-daughter dance; the mother of the groom followed suit with her son in a special dance signifying a handing off of their children to become one and begin a family of their own.

A La Fonda Wedding in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Mariah and Will had a stunning wedding at La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is a wonderful place to be wed. La Fonda is the only hotel situated on the historic Santa Fe Plaza. This area is a wedding photographer’s dream! Or any photographer for that matter.

Santa Fe Plaza is dripping with old-world charm and authentic New Mexican style. I took full advantage of this while I walked the newlyweds around for some great shots on their wedding day.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Carter delved straight into New Mexico culture with their entire wedding. You can see the Southwest style in each detail, from the bright orange and red flowers in the bride’s bouquet to the turquoise jewelry and different shades of blue and turquoise bridesmaids dresses.

Not to mention the cute cactuses on their wedding invitations! And when you get to the bottom of the photos you’ll see the mariachi band leading the wedding party to their next destination. I loved every bit of it!

Mariah and Will were such sweethearts and I fully enjoyed working with each of them to make their wedding dreams a reality. We captured the love, the laughter, and the tears. They will be able to look back on the very special moments of each reciting their uniquely written wedding vows to each other whenever they need a little reminder of where it all started.
